The 2006 Teen Choice Awards aired last night on Fox and Global recognized some of the hottest and most talented celebrities in the entertainment industry. The awards show, which is known for their infamous surf board trophies, unveils viewers and teen choices for celebrities in a number of categories. The most prestigious award, best dressed red carpet style, was given to Nick Lachey and Jessica Alba. Although he was overwhelmed with excitment for recieving the award, Nick Lachey found his acceptance speech somewhat "awkward" considering his former wife, popstar Jessica Simpson was the host of the show. I guess that's what happens when you're in the world of showbiz.
Jessica Alba looked stunning in a gold gown while Laguna Beach's Kristen Cavallari presented an award with her new super-long, super-straight blond locks. Jessica Simpson, host of the show, was actually dressed semi-sophisticated compared to her usual provocative ways however her ditzy, bimbo-esque personality annoyed viewers and took away from her style - like always.
On other notes, the Teen Choice Awards unveiled some of the most creative stage settings in the history of awards shows. Right infront of the mainstage was a hot tub filled with viewers who could watch the show while relaxing in the spa. The show featured a number of performers and finished with the world premiere of Kevin Federline's live performance which - to say the least - was one of the most embarassing performances I have ever seen. Okay K-Fed, you gave it a shot - time to go back home and continue living off of your formerly-hot and once-successful wife, Britney Spears.
