In the Beginning…
When Jessica Simpson first hit the Hollywood scene in 1999 her style was conservative – she was the only popstar at the time who refused to compromise her dignity by baring her midriff. That sure didn’t last long! Jessica soon realized that the only was to gain recognition and publicity in the entertainment industry was to show a little skin. Before long, her values were thrown out the window (along with her full sized shirts) and were traded in for midriff-baring, cleavage showing tube tops and leather hot pants. In the course of less than two years, this ditzy blonde went from cute and conservative to trashy and tasteless.
When She Got Married…
Soon after the blonde bombshell married former 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey her style went back to being somewhat conservative. She’s totally unpredictable and never consistent in the clothes she chooses to wear. Most of the designs have her chest popping out and her skirts hiked so high she barely bend over without revealing a part of her we don’t really want to see.
But in between these wardrobe horror stories, she’s actually had some very successful fashion choices. When she wants to, she can look extremely sexy and professional, but these occasions are few and far between.
Now that She’s divorced…
You’d think that since her marriage failed and her life is in complete and utter turmoil right now, Jessica would at least start to dress well again – but no! The first time she was spotted in public after the two announced their separation she showed up in a god-awful purple, floor-length dress (I’m sure most of you know which one I’m talking about). It made her look like she’s twice the size she actually is and about 4 feet tall. Luckily, she has had her shining moments to balance out these shameful episodes.
Once Jessica opted for a more grown up look (she got rid of her fake hair extensions and started cleaning up the way she dressed) she actually looks pretty good. Their have been more ups and downs in her style than there have been in her personal life but she manages to pull through and maintain a positive image.
Jessica’s Love for Louis Vuitton Handbags
Anyone who’s watched the “Newlyweds” or pays attention to celebrity style will know Jessica’s trademark style in a second flat. Her love for Louis Vuitton handbags has become an obsession and is one of Jessica’s most recognizable traits. Her bags are getting bigger by the second, most of them looking as though they weigh more than she does!
Jessica’s Most Memorable Outfit
Jessica has had a number of much-talked-about fashion choices. Most of the ones that make it into the spotlight aren’t her best choices. When I think of Jess’ most memorable fashion choice, unfortunately I think of the horrendous black and white mess she chose to wear to a music awards show about a year and a half ago. This disaster did nothing for her figure and made her look like a French maid who had been caught in a shredding machine.
