Trump Keeps Tara Conner as Miss USA

It's official, Donald Trump has decided to give Miss USA, Tara Conner, another chance. Trump Organization has been deciding for the past few days whether or not the 21 year old was deserving of her crown. The Kentucky born winner has been seen partying hard, drinking in public and has even been accused of using cocaine. As a result, Trump has evicted her from Trump Place and has just recently announced that she will be allowed to keep her crown.

Do You Agree with Donald Trump? Does Tara Deserve a Second Chance?

While Conner has been a less than impressive role model for young teens this year, Trump feels as though she deserves a second chance. He also insists that she will be undergoing therapy for her problems.

What I don't get is that in 2002, Miss Universe (from Russia) was dethrowned for not attending photo shoots and missing charity events. While those responsibilities are key factors in a good role model, I don't see how Tara can be excused for her actions when they were considerably worse.

Missing a few charity events and photo shoots compared to alcohol use, possible drug use and complete disrespect for the Trump Organization?

I have yet to figure out how Trump made the call to keep her as the reigning queen.

MR TRUMP showed the "wisdom of solomon" in his judgment of Ms. Tara Conner.  The fact is that New York City is a very easy town to get caught up in the "Bright Lights Big City" type temptations that all too often find their way to the young and beautiful. Ms. Conner has only illustrated a human lack of judgment commensurate with her experience in life. Predators about in New York Nightlife circles.  That Mr. Trump, a man who himself refrains from the consumption of alcohol or drugs or excess partying was able to recognize that Ms. Conner deserved a second chance illustrates how wise this man is. All too often for too many people, making one mistake results in catastrophic results. If we can forgive people for merely being human that says alot about the evolution of our society. God bless Mr. Trump and Ms Conner

It’s not the size of the crime, but the quality of the contrition.  The Russian might not have been sorry for what she did, blowing off the photo shoots, and making lame excuses.  Out she goes.  Conner might have done worse things, but then she might also have been far more sincere in her regret, and much more willing to change her ways.  It’s a Catholic thing.  Trump is Collegiate Reformed Dutch Protestant, but I think he gets it.

And remember too, she’s supposed to be a role model.  What an amazing role model she could be if she publicly faced her humiliation, then learned from it and turned her life around.  I think The Donald has great media instincts.  He wouldn’t keep Conner unless he felt, in the long run, it would help the pageant.
