Britney Spears is ending her whirlwind of a year by branding herself with a star tattoo. The 25 year old pop princess made a dash for the tattoo parlor yesterday with little sister Jamie Lynne. While Jamie Lynne remains tattooless, big sister Brit got a tattoo of a star on her right hand. What is the significance of the tattoo? Nobody is really sure.

While the location of the tattoo is rather strange, the star may feel as though the image of the tattoo reflects her star power in the entertainment industry. Perhaps it's a little bit of motivation in her career comeback attempt, which has severely failed so far. Either way, Spears is officially branded with a star tattoo on her right hand.

This is not the first tattoo for the "Oops I did it Again" singer, in fact, she has a total of 6 ink prints now. Brit has a vine on her right foot, a Japanese symbol on her bikini line, a pair of dice on her left wrist, a fairy on her lower back, a butterfly on her foot and a Hebrew etching on her neck. Seems as though Britney is trying hard to express herself through tattoos.
