Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have had an on again/off again friendship for the past few months. Immediately after splitting from husband Kevin Federline, Britney and Paris became best friends. They were seen partying all over Los Angeles and the two were basically inseperable. After a few very public incidences (Britney photographed going commando and overly intoxicated on many occasions) Brit decided it was in her best interest to part ways with the Hilton heiress.

Reports claim Britney said it was best if she wasn't seen with Paris in public "for now". After hearing the news that she had been ditched by one of her best friends, Paris fought back by calling Spears "the animal". Britney is probably doing what is best for her two young children  which is not going out to get drunk every night, although the 25 year old socialite is finding it difficult to grasp the concept.

Paris recently made up with former best friend and costar of "The Simple Life" Nicole Richie. Although the two claimed they would never speak again, their ties have been mended. Don't worry Britney, there's still hope Paris will take you back too.
