Paris Hilton kicked off the New Year in Sydney Australia where she was welcomed by thousands of Aussies anticipating the arrival of the blonde heiress. Paris was asked to judge the finals of "The Search for the Face of Bondi Blonde" and ended up choosing Australian born Jamie Wright as the new face of the beer.

Paris' stay in Sydney was relatively short lived but did not stop the socialite from shopping. Paris (along with longtime friend Kim Kardashian) left the country yesterday with 8 huge suitcases full of new stuff. The two brought back so much new gear that the bill for going over the "allowed" amount was over $600.
$600 is mere pocket change for this hotel heiress who earned over $500,000 during her short stay in Australia. While the 25 year old star has an infinite amount of cash and even more popularity, her ego was kept in check while in Sydney. In fact, Hilton even managed to stop and sign autographs in the airport, right before catching her flight back to Los Angeles.
Paris left such an impression on Australian citizens that one man even suggested that her pet dog become president. "Tinkerbell for president" he shouted as she walked away. We like your dog too, Paris - but not that much.
