Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Ring in the New Year

Rumors that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are officially together have been circulating ever since Madden split from Hilary Duff in November. Even more gossip began to generate after the two were seen together on New Year's Eve. Richie, 25, was partying with her new beau at the nightclub "Ghostbar" at the Palms in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

While the two have been quick to deny any real romance with each other, it's easy to tell that they enjoy each other's company. Reports claim the two were seen holding hands while watching a fireworks display outside on the club's balcony. Fireworks seem to be in the future for these two as well.

Meanwhile MSNBC reports that Duff is furious with Madden's decision to date Nicole Richie. US Weekly states that Hilary called Nicole a "skank" and claimed that she never really knew Madden at all.

What has happened with Joel. I'm glad if he is happy but he has changed a lot since he dated Hilary. He seems he is drifting father from the band. Good Charlotte I'm sure will break up this year. It's not Joel's fault but he has just changed a lot. Whatever he does I respect but Nicole Richie is a very bad choice of a girlfriend. I wish Good Charlotte was the way that they were before but they have changed too much but it is their choices and I respect that.
