Since the highly publicized split between Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz, Timberlake has been most notably linked to Scarlett Johansson. Justin and Scarlett were seen having an intimate conversation in club in LA where they talked for over an hour, ignoring practically everyone else. This generated a significant amount of gossip, linking the "Sexy Back" singer to the "Black Dahlia" star but what most people are unaware of is Justin's very brief (but possibly meaningful) New Year's Eve with Kate Hudson.

Kate, who recently split from husband Chris Robinson, has been linked to Owen Wilson. After the two apparently split in December, Kate threw an elaborate New Year's party where Justin just happen to attend.

A source from E! Online says that Justin and Kate were "chatty" and spent a lot of time together at the party. Apparently the two were seen going upstairs together. When Kate returned back downstairs, the source says she was wearing a different outfit.

While the rumors continue to circulate, Hudson and Timberlake's reps are doing their best to deny the story. Timberlake's rep declined to comment on the situation while Hudson's rep claims "he was one of many guests at the party. They are friends, nothing more". Just friends - that's their story and they're sticking to it.
