While the anticipation of the 2007 Annual Academy Awards draws near, we take a look back on last year’s best dressed women to see if they can outdo themselves again this year.
The Oscars are by far the most prestigious awards show of the year. Not only do they define the best of the best in film but they also unveil some of the fashion industry’s must-have dresses. Over the years, the red carpet has slowly began to take over the event and more and more people are watching the show for the clothing and less for the awards.
So let’s take a look at some of the best dressed (and most memorable) gowns of the 2006 Oscars:
Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba glowed in this gold, floor-length gown Versace gown. Alba’s sexy curves are ideal for this feminine detailed dress. Jessica was definitely one of the red carpet winners at last year’s event.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole looked sleek and elegant in this tight-fitting, floor-length white Balenciaga gown. Kidman wowed the crowd when she hit the red carpet in this figure flattering embroidered gown. Can Kidman top last year’s gown this year?
Keira Knightley
Keira Knightley was a somewhat unexpected winner on last year’s red carpet. Her memorable burgundy gown by Vera Wang was a nice switch from her usual jeans and t-shirts. The single-strap, floor-length ruched gown was the ultimate dress on the red carpet. Well done Keira!
Will these women top the red carpet this year as well – or will other Hollywood superstars like Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie steal the gold? Tune in to the Oscars red carpet arrivals starting as early as 6 o’clock on February 25th on ABC.
