Sanjaya Malakar, a 17 year old boy from Federal Way, Washington has single handedly taken over the world with his huge smile and energetic personality. And if last night’s American Idol was any indication, this kid has a sure shot of winning the title this year.
It wasn’t long ago when Sanjaya was like every other contestant on American Idol - just trying to stand out in hopes of being the one left standing in the end. But Sanjaya has quickly become an international phenomenon, proving that you can do anything you can put your mind to.
Sure, the 17 year old boy may not be the most vocally impressive contestant this season, but he knows how to inspire people - something many of the other contestants lack. There’s something about Sanjaya that has the whole world talking. Whether it’s the fact that he takes Simon’s criticism so well week after week or the fact that he physically moved a thirteen year old girl to tears, there’s no denying the power this young man holds.
The shy boy who first graced the American Idol audition stage a month ago has become an idol in his own right. With millions of fans and a great support system, there’s no denying that he may actually become the next American Idol. He’s completely taken over the season. In the words of the 17 year old himself “welcome to the universe of Sanjaya”.
