Sanjaya Malakar didn't impress judges last night when he sang Bonnie Raitt's hit "Something to talk About" but that doesn't mean that the 17 year old is going home tonight. In fact, there were a few other contestants who received poor reviews, although none quite as bad as Sanjaya's. It was disappointing to see the sadness on a face that was once so bright it could light up the entire building. But it's not the judges decision to send Sanjaya home, it is the fans and from what we have seen this year, Malakar has the largest fan base out of all the contestants left. Will it be enough to keep Sanjaya here another week?
Tonight's episode is probably the first episode where Sanjaya may actually feel vulnerable. Last week he received rave reviews from the judges and Simon even told the bubbly boy that his performance 'wasn't horrible'. But this week was a completely different story; not only did Simon tell Sanjaya that his performance was "utterly horrendous" but Paula and Randy actually agreed. Despite what the judges say, Sanjaya still has a great chance of winning. And if I had to put money on it, I would bet that he makes through to the next round.
