Sanjaya Malakar's tenure on American Idol came to a screaming halt last night when the 17 year old boy was booted from the competition. Sanjaya managed to maintain composure as Ryan Seacrest announced he was in the bottom two but he couldn't hold back the tears when he was asked to perform Bonnie Raitt's song for the last time on Idol after Ryan announced that he would be going home. Malakar's fate may have been what millions of viewers were waiting for but there were millions of others who were cheering on the smiley boy from Federal Way, Washington. With numerous fan sites, millions of supportive fans and a support system unlike any other on American Idol, it was surprising that Malakar didn't make the final 6. Did American Idol get worried that viewers were catching on to the conspiracy?
Sanjaya was definitely one of the most talked about contestants in Idol history. Millions of viewers supported the young boy but there were even more people who were skeptical of American Idol since the beginning. Could it be that the whole show is fixed? It was working well for a while and Idol ratings were higher than ever before. The Sanjaya phenomenon may have saved the show from airing one of the most boring season's of American Idol yet. But when fans started getting furious and people started to catch on, perhaps Idol producers thought it was time to end the charade. And poor Sanjaya was left in tears on the American Idol stage live in front of millions of people. Perhaps all the stories are wrong. Perhaps there was no conspiracy at all this year. If that's the case then Sanjaya has nothing to worry about. It seems as though he has enough people in the world who love him that he will be just fine in the entertainment industry.
