Britney Spears has reportedly decided to take a break from the music spotlight in order to be a stay-at-home mom for her two young boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James. According to numerous sources, the 25 year old mother of two can't part with her boys and is dreading going back into the studio because of the time she will lose with them. She claimed that she enjoys every minute she spends with them and is considering quitting music to be a full-time stay at home mom. So do you think that Britney can change from a fast-paced pop star lifestyle to a stay-at-home mom? Let's take a look at the pros and cons of each situation.
Britney the Stay-At-Home Mom
Britney has tried her hardest and put a lot of effort into raising her two young sons. Unfortunately, raising children doesn't come as naturally to Britney as belting out tunes and performing in front of millions of people. Brit's track record as a mom isn't very impressive. The former pop princess has dropped Sean Preston at least once, buckled her baby in the car seat backwards and left both boys for over a month to seek treatment in a rehabilitation center. And while she does give parenting a lot of effort (other than her rehab stint, she is seen with her boys more than most celebrity parents), she's just not very good at it. Maybe her skills will come with time. In that case, the more practice Britney can get, the better it is for both her and her children.
Britney the Superstar
Being a pop princess was something that Britney had dreamt about since she was a very little girl. She has worked extremely hard and was a highly successful musician at a very young age. Singing and being on tour is her passion and she lived and breathed music everyday for over 4 years. So it comes down to whether or not Brit is burnt out. Did she sing, perform and become a pop star so fast that she simply doesn't like doing it anymore? Possibly, but passion like what we've seen from Britney doesn't go away easily.
The Verdict
While being the princess of pop served Britney well for a good couple of years, it's time for her to grow up. If she was a single, 25 year old without children there would be reason to believe that her career in the music industry could sustain a comeback. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), Brit has two children who deserve attention and care from their mother. And while she's not the best mom yet, we all learn to become great parents. Therefore, the verdict here is that the best decision for Britney right now is to take a break from music to focus on her children. It's the most important thing she could do right now and will make a big difference in the future of her children. We hope she makes the right decision.
