Rosie O'Donnell has officially announced that she will be leaving 'The View' in June after just one year. Rosie has helped the show's ratings sky rocket over the past 12 months but some of the issues she's been discussing may be a little too controversial, even for 'The View'. Since Rosie's debut on the highly popular morning show, she's been in controversial debates with Donald Trump and Kelly Ripa, not to mention the many others that went somewhat under the radar. Needless to say, her co-stars probably aren't too disappointed with O'Donnell's decision.
Rosie and co-star Elizabeth Hasselback have had their fair share of disputes during Rosie's short tenure with the show. From politics to racism, Rosie and Elizabeth disagreed on almost everything they had to talk about. Fortunately for the show, their disagreements worked out well for ratings and since Rosie took a seat at the table, the ratings have improved significantly.
There has been no definite answer confirmed as to why Rosie decided to leave the show, other than the fact that she and ABC couldn't come to an agreement on a contract. “My needs for the future just didn’t dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me,” said Rosie in a statement Wednesday. “This has been an amazing experience and one I wouldn’t have traded for the world” she finishes.
So what's next for Rosie? And who will take her place on 'The View'. I guess we just wait and see. Should be an interesting couple of months ahead.
