Jessica Simpson and John Mayer seem to be on the road to rekindling their romance. The two were spotted out on a date in New York city on Sunday night.

To add further fuel to the fire, In Touch Weekly reports that Mayer was seen leaving the Soho Grand around noon on Monday - the hotel that Jessica was staying in while she was in New York.

A friend close to Simpson claims that Jessica is taking it slow with Mayer this time around; the singer broke up with her last week because he "needed more space."

The friend also said that "She still loves him, but he's not stable. He's scared of commitment. He breaks up with her and then regrets it and then begs her to get back together."
