During a recent trip to Europe, music sensation turned actress, Jessica Simpson took some time to reflect on her personal life and the choices she's made over the past few years. Upon return from her vacation, Jess wrote a message to her fans on her website about what she had learned about herself and how it could help others dealing with heartache.

Jessica's message began with ""I just got back from spending some time in Europe, and while I was there I visited many museums, and have been reading about different artists. I was reading a book about Michelangelo and there were two quotes that caught my attention - 'I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free' and 'Each time we face our fear, we gain strength, courage, and confidence in the doing. 'These quotes inspired me to write the below passage. I hope you can find your own individual meaning in it, as I keep coming back to it and find new strength".

Jessica's personal message to her fans was quite profound compared to the normal (ditzy) words that she's been known for. "Sometimes we are all so afraid to be honest with ourselves because we know that honesty will lead us somewhere off the path of the life we've mapped out in our minds", she begins, "today, I challenge us to ask ourselves this - what if we allow our fear to provoke us into action? Can facing our fear be what walks us to somewhere better?"

"I do not have your answers, but in the quest to find my own, I've discovered somewhere worth traveling to. In my life, I ignore my fears too often, but then I'm left with nothing to challenge the best of me. I just remain cowering from my true identity. There is no discovery."

But what does Jessica's recent epiphany mean in relation to her life. Nobody is quite sure. Although it could be related to her recent breakup with singer John Mayer, it's more likely related to her divorce from Nick Lachey. Nick was a big part of Jessica's life and it's clear that Jess is struggling to find out whether the choices she's made are the right choices for her at this point in her life. Sure, she says her choices have led her somewhere worth traveling to but could that place be right back into the arms of her ex-husband? Hopefully.

Jess and Nick had broken up for 8 months before they got married. Sometimes we don't realize what we have until it's gone. Maybe Jess needed to learn that on her own and now she feels more independent than before. Her song 'I Belong to Me' was about her need for independence. Sometimes we need to know we're okay on our own before we can open up to others. Realizing your mistakes can make you a stronger person in the end. Jess and Nick needed this breakup to find their true love for each other. Now that they've realized it, it's time for the reunion.
