Paul Potts, the incredible singer from the hit TV show "Britain's Got Talent", has revealed some dark secrets about his past. The 36 year old musician recently won a one hundred thousand pound recording contract but reveals to Hello! Magazine that life wasn't always so easy. Before Potts stepped onto the stage of the highly popular TV show and shocked millions of people with his breathtaking voice (he brought the judges to tears in his first audition) he spent many years depressed and lonely, bottling up emotions and even contemplating suicide.

In a recent interview, Potts tells Hello! Magazine "There was a lot of name-calling and I was regularly beaten up. It turned me in to a loner. I never told my parents. Somehow I felt it was my fault. I bottled it all up."  He goes onto say that "There were some low times. I used to cry myself to sleep. In my darkest moments I thought about killing myself. I also thought about self-harming. I even considered throwing myself down some stairs."

Potts, who has won the hearts of millions of men and women all over the world (including Simon Cowell), is now the subject of headlines reading "I Want to have Paul Potts Babies" and "Everybody wants a Piece of Paul Potts".

Needless to say, this man is an inspiration to all individuals, especially those dealing with issues similar to what he experienced when he was younger. Paul Potts is living proof that even though life may be hard sometimes there is a reason for everyone to be here. And all the people who caused him pain in the past look like fools now. Not only is he one of the best singers in the world but he's an incredible human being who deserves every single moment in the spotlight. It's about time we start paying attention to people like Paul.
