Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have been trying desperately to retain photos of the pair having steamy sex in a hot tub during their Mexican vacation. A source told TMZ.com that the photos were "Paris sex tape level" showing the pair "in several different sexual positions". Once the couple found out that tabloids had obtained racy photos of the two going at it, they immediately went into damage control. Lachey's lawyer, Marty Singer, spun into action stating that any media outlet that decided to publish these photos would be in for a mega lawsuit. This week's issue of Life & Style Magazine features some toned down pics of the two making out but they haven't decided if they will print the hardcore photos as of yet.

Meanwhile, Nick is doing everything he can to save his image (after the knife photos with Lindsay Lohan, Vanessa's image is clearly dunzo) and the couple has decided to do an open interview with OK! Magazine to get the story straight. In the interview, Nick tells the magazine that he can't figure out why the photo scandal is so popular. "Where's the scandal?" he asks "I was in Mexico with my girlfriend celebrating our first anniversary together on a private vacation. It's not like I was caught with a Mexican hooker. We've all gone out and had a few too many and done something stupid. We've all made mistakes."

At least he's willing to admit that having sex in a hot tub that was visible to the paparazzi is deemed a mistake. And I still believe that Vanessa is taking advantage of Nick and doing everything she can to put them in the spotlight. Well done Vanessa, you got your wish - you're famous. Too bad you're famous for the same reason as Paris Hilton.
