From making next to nothing in a meat factory to landing a $100,000 contract with P&G (Proctor & Gamble) cosmetics was all in a few weeks’ work for Rebecca Hardy – the new winner of Canada’s Next Top Model.
The 22-year-old from Mannheim, Ontario was crowned the winner of Canada’s Next Top Model (cycle 2) in the season finale last night.

Rebecca was an underdog from the very beginning. Not only was she the most awkward looking of the final 10 contestants but she was also the girl with the most outlandish personality.
It was not uncommon to see Rebecca strip off her clothes for the camera, curse repeatedly or get absolutely intoxicated on the day before judging. In fact, viewers saw Rebecca get so drunk during one episode that she cheated on her boyfriend by kissing one of the male guests in the house.
Role model material? I think not.
So why would worldrenowned photo director and host of Canada’s Next Top Model, Jay Manuel, choose someone like Rebecca to represent Canada?
It seems as though Jay and the other judges (including worldrenowned fashionista Jeannie Becker) liked the high end, editorial look of the 5-foot-eleven redhead. But looks can be deceiving.
If you ask me, they made a huge mistake. Rebecca’s image and attitude seem more compatible with a meat factory than runways in Paris, Milan or LA.
Would you like Rebecca representing your country?
