“The Bachelor” stars Andy Baldwin and Tessa Horst – Madly in Love!

Who said reality love would never last?

Just months ago Andy Baldwin was the lucky man chosen to be the next bachelor on the 11th season of the hit TV show “The Bachelor”. After eliminating 24 women in a matter of weeks, Baldwin proposed to Tessa Horst, the sweet social worker from San Francisco, California at the end of the show.

Now, nearly two months after choosing Tessa, the two are still madly in love.

Andy recently sat down with Florida Sports Magazine where he opened up about falling in love.

“We ended up falling in love,” says Baldwin. “She is the type of woman I envisioned and prayed would come on the show.  I proposed to her, which was quick, and I initially didn’t think that was going to happen.  Now that the show is over, we’re definitely taking it slow and at our own pace.  We are eager to spend time together without the cameras outside of the ‘Narnia’ of a reality show.  We’re calling it our ‘Dating-gagement.’”

It seems like a romance is blossoming. And when asked about his take on love, the U.S Naval Lieutenant had the following words of advice:

“You can’t force it to happen, but don’t be afraid to take a risk, go and push yourself.  You might be pleasantly surprised by what you might find.  Stay open and don’t get discouraged if you get rejected or turned down.  This is a planet with billions of people. If one person says no, it’s a gift not a blow... Don’t stop until you find the right person.  If you later find out your right person is the wrong person, be honest with them and yourself then start your search again.

“Happiness is finding laughter and love, that balanced give and take, that spark, that person who you actually want to talk with, not the person you have to talk to,” he finished.

Seems like Andy has love all figured out.

And while the odds of reality love lasting are not in their favor, it’s not out of the question completely.

Trista and Ryan (who are expecting their first baby), Charlie and Sara (who are still going strong) and Byron and Marie (who plan to marry this fall) are just a few examples of true love found on the TV show.

Do you think Andy and Tess will stay together?

With a show like

"The Bachelor"  things have to happen fast and sometimes forced.  Given time Andy and Tessa can find what they are both hoping to find.   Everyone thinks they will stay together but need more time to date and get to know one another.  They also have the distance thing going on and need to visit one another in each of their cities and perhaps a neutral location also.

Andy & Tessa will stay together, she 's moving to Hawaii as these words are written.   Just because they're not jumping into marriage is actually a good sign.  They will live together and just enjoy each other as any new couple should.  Tessa will find a job in Hawaii, if I'm not mistaken she has already had offers.  their both young and need the time to just be together before marriage and a family.  once you have children your life as you once new it is over.  not in a bad way just different.   it becomes more about family than just the husband & wife.

Andy and Tessa are very pragmatic and smart to take their time.  Andy is SO much hotter than Brad Womack.  No one will top Andy and Tessa's season.

Bachelor' star to stay a bachelor

August 16, 2007

The marriage that seemed so inviting when the reality-TV cameras rolled is losing its appeal for Andy Baldwin and the woman he proposed to on ABC's "The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman."

The two have called off their engagement, and social worker Tessa Horst postponed plans to move from San Francisco to Hawaii, where the Navy doctor is stationed. But Baldwin told In Touch Weekly that the relationship goes on.

"When the fantasy wore off and the reality set in, we both realized that we weren't ready to be engaged," he said. "We're taking things much slower."
