Bubbly and energetic “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts revealed on this morning’s show that she is battling breast cancer.
The 46-year-old also announced that she will begin treatment in the coming months.

Robin recently wrote a letter to ABC news, revealing her story and how she found out she had this tragic disease.
“I never thought I'd be writing this … I have breast cancer,” she began.
Robin then went on to reveal that a good friend recently passed away after fighting breast cancer. Her friend, Joel, was an advocate of all-important early screening and encouraged everyone to self-test for breast cancer.
“That very night when I went to bed, I did a self breast exam and found something that women everywhere fear – I found a lump,” Robin said.
Robin proceeded to her doctor’s office, where she was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer.
The “Good Morning America” anchor expressed her gratitude to the people she works with, the fans of the show and, of course, her friends and family.
Robin ended her message with the following:
“Now I join the ranks of millions of Americans who are fighting this same battle each and every day. I appreciate YOUR courage and YOUR example. Thank you for showing me the way.”
