Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America” Reveals She Has Breast Cancer

Bubbly and energetic “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts revealed on this morning’s show that she is battling breast cancer.

The 46-year-old also announced that she will begin treatment in the coming months.

Robin recently wrote a letter to ABC news, revealing her story and how she found out she had this tragic disease.

“I never thought I'd be writing this … I have breast cancer,” she began.

Robin then went on to reveal that a good friend recently passed away after fighting breast cancer. Her friend, Joel, was an advocate of all-important early screening and encouraged everyone to self-test for breast cancer.

“That very night when I went to bed, I did a self breast exam and found something that women everywhere fear – I found a lump,” Robin said.

Robin proceeded to her doctor’s office, where she was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer.

The “Good Morning America” anchor expressed her gratitude to the people she works with, the fans of the show and, of course, her friends and family.

Robin ended her message with the following:

“Now I join the ranks of millions of Americans who are fighting this same battle each and every day. I appreciate YOUR courage and YOUR example. Thank you for showing me the way.”

I was very shocked and surprised by the courageous announcement of Robin Roberts of her Condition.

It is ironic that following that there was a report about Pigeons and How we are fooling around with mother Nature in order to stop the Pigeons from reproducing so that there would be less pooping in the streets etc.

Well, I would like to see an investigative report on the Part of ABC to see how this uncontrolled spreading of Chemicals that the birds don’t eat and wind up in our Water system could be affecting Humans. Such as Ms Roberts condition. We are constantly throwing chemicals of all sorts in our Environment to control it. Could there be better methods that would not pollute.

For example we worry about stray cats and spend Millions of dollars at SPCA and other organization rounding them up and humanly killing them. If only we left nature alone and some cats could be left to roam they could lower the pigeon population on their own without us resorting to chemical warfare.

It reminds me of a story where some so called smart guys added new specie of fish in a lake to battle another type and it caused nothing but problems. To the point that they resorted to blowing up the lake to lower the undesired fish population.

The lesson is we have to be ultra careful when fooling around with the delicate balance that Mother Nature has. And study more the Environmental reasons for Conditions like Ms. Roberts.

Thank you and Best of Luck to you.

Donna Hicken, young newscaster of the ABC affiliate in Jacksonville, FLorida is a continuing survivor of breast and has gained so much community support and love. Donna, an avid marathon runner, has started a special marathon in or whatever you choose it to be to support breast cancer. She has also written a book about her battle with it.

My prayers are with you and remember to always take hold of The Man's hand and you'll be fine! Your class, spirit and attitude will outlast this ugly beast all of us women are so susceptible to.

Hang tough gal...I don't know you but know you will make it!
