Keeping a secret in Hollywood is like refusing to buy a pair of red-hot Manolo Blahnik shoes on sale – practically impossible, right?

Unfortunately, staying mum is especially hard for ex-Spice Girl, Melanie Brown, who as been in the spotlight as much as her Posh sidekick the past few months.

And yet, despite the controversy around Melanie and her ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy, the singer kept quiet about her marriage to Stephen Belafonte – for as long as possible, anyways.

Perez Hilton was the first to report that Mel and Stephen were officially married. According to the site, she and her beau have been married since June 6.

The couple reportedly tied the knot in Las Vegas in a private ceremony. The two then returned to Los Angeles, where they managed to keep the news under wraps – until now, that is.

When asked why they kept it a secret for so long, Mel’s rep said, “They just value their privacy.”

Melanie was scheduled to appear on Larry King Live last night but cancelled because she and her baby were sick.
