Topping the music charts isn’t the only competition between Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore anymore – they’re both competing for the affection  of musical bad boy, John Mayer.

While John and Mandy haven’t officially cozied up in Couplesville, the two are acting like heat seeking missiles – for each other. In one of the first public sightings, the sexy couple were seen eating an intimate lunch in Soho yesterday. John’s body language in the photo suggests a romantic protectiveness over the pop star. Ahhh.

First Vanessa, now Mandy? Poor Jess dumped for a bodacious brunette once again – seems like blonds don’t have more fun after all.

No doubt, Jessie will be furious when she finds out her ex-boyfriend, John Mayer, is shacking up with another Hollywood pop tart. We can’t help but wish we could see the temper tantrum… Maybe she’ll try on Mandy’s recent cast-off, Zach Braff to retaliate.
