The former O.C. star, perhaps channeling her bad girl character Marissa Cooper, was pulled over by police in the early hours of December 27th 2007, when her vehicle was spotted straddling two lanes of the highway. She now faces charges on four counts, including driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, driving without a valid driver’s license, and finally, possession of marijuana.

But Barton is certainly not one to revel in her mistakes, and is appearing penitent in the press. “Obviously, I’m 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case, and I’m really disappointed in myself,” the 22-year-old told Ryan Seacrest on his morning show. “I don’t know what to say about it, except I’m not perfect. I just don’t ever intend to do something this stupid again.”

According to Barton’s attorney, Anthony Salerno, the star is receiving no preferential treatment in her case, but is pleased to be facing only misdemeanor charges in the matter. Barton’s arraignment is to be held on Thursday.
