Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie may have had their share of tiffs in the past, but as the saying goes, it’s all water under the bridge when it comes to fixing up your best gal pal with your rocker boyfriend’s twin brother.

After taking on the parent role to little Harlow Winter Kate, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have also added matchmaking to their repertoire. They’re playing cupid for poor Uncle Benji, who two weeks ago found himself single after splitting with fiancée Sophie Monk.

The lovely lady they’ve chosen to mend his heart is none other than Paris Hilton, Nicole’s bff / and arch enemy (depending on the day). After an introduction from Nicole, Paris and Benji are said to be hitting it off, and have been seen holding hands and snuggling at various local night clubs.

Reports have gone so far as to say that the two are “getting serious” and that Benji is touting Paris as being “the one.” But we’re betting it will be Nicole and Joel who walk down the aisle first.

While a simpler life of being a mom with an exclusive boyfriend seems to be suiting Nicole Richie, we’re not sure it’s the right role for Paris – the infamous party girl has yet to see her fill of DUIs, body part flashing and little puppies who fit in her purse to settle down just yet.

Nicole on the other hand, has been spending her time out of the spotlight, establishing the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation, taking care of her baby and eating food, which we’re oh-so-glad to see. The healthy, happy mom seems to be flourishing in her new role, and we’ve got to say it – that’s hot!
