Janet Jackson Still Nasty - But With Discipline

Janet Jackson, DisciplineNever overlook a Jackson when it comes to staying in the spotlight – first it was Michael making the headlines with news of the foreclosure of Neverland Ranch, but now it’s Janet who’s taking her turn with the February 26th release of her new CD, Discipline.

Although the CD is getting mixed reviews and is raising controversy for its provocative Dominatrix-inspired lyrics – read: "Daddy take your time ... I want you to punish me ... I need some discipline tonight" – it’s certainly putting her back in the public eye faster than the time it took to expose her nipple on national television four years ago.

But her CD isn’t all Miss Jackson has on her plate. Janet’s been keeping busy with plenty of media exposure. Let’s take a look at her well-disciplined schedule:

Cover Girl. She’s slated to appear on the cover of VIBE Magazine’s April 2008 issue, and she’s working on lining up the famous fam for a Jackson Five reunion tour (but we’re not holding our breath for that one).

Internet Beef Inciter. In an interview with Between The Lines News posted on PrideSource, Janet discusses everything from her gay fanbase, to how fans are hell-bent on keeping her at war with Madonna. In response to questions on how she feels about Madonna now, new age Janet said:

“I think she's done wonderful things. She's done great things in her career, in her life, and more power to her. I think fans will always be that way. Always. They're just incredibly loyal and they love you so much that if anyone says anything remotely negative, they're there to just immediately jump on them. It'll always be that way - very loyal.”

Dance Instructor? Finally, filed under “Things You Wish You’d Never Seen,” Janet paid a visit to Larry King Live. This video, posted on TMZ, shows Janet spending a good amount of time trying to bend the old man’s limbs into poses from her latest video, in a painful and way too long attempt to teach King to “dance”. While we acknowledge that Janet still has some moves, King sure won’t be joining the Rhythm Nation any time soon.

That’s quite a busy couple of weeks for the somewhat reclusive Miss Jackson of previous years – but personally, we’re excited about Janet hitting the spotlight again, and we look forward to grooving to her bad girl beats. Because hey, who couldn’t use a little more Nasty in their life?
