Oh no they di’nt – literally. Rumors were flying over the weekend that celeb power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were going to make it official in a New Orleans wedding. But come Monday morning, those rumors are proving to be false.
In a story perpetrated by Star magazine, a source was quoted saying the couple was planning a wedding at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel for Saturday. However, since the story was released, vehement denials have been pouring out of the woodwork from numerous sources close to the couple, and the magazine has been forced to go back on the news item.
“After further investigation, the sources are not standing by their story,” was the official retraction posted on Star’s website.
I guess this means we can put away our champagne glasses and return that set of steak knives. The question now, though, is whether or not we even cared about this wedding in the first place. Brad and Angie are constantly in the spotlight whether they like it or not, but would a wedding really be something to stop the presses on?
We were the first to get our bloomers in a twist over the Braniston breakup (devestation, anyone?), but since Brangelina took the stage, we’ve turned off the TV.
Yes they do great deeds for the poor, yes they produce and collect lovely offspring, and yes between the two of them there is some talent on the big screen and we’ll watch the movies – but that still doesn’t mean we have to like them as a twosome, and we sure don’t have to hold our breaths waiting for them to decide if they want to get married. Great big yaaaaaaaawn. I bet her dress would be lovely though...
