It could be said that the only thing crazier than the late Anna Nicole Smith in her heyday is her mother, Virgie Arthur. But that would be distasteful.
Still, it can’t be denied that Anna Nicole Smith’s mom is a bit loony, and the strange circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death and the custody dispute over her grandchild Dannielynn have possibly put her over the edge. Virgie is suing popular celebrity news website TMZ and also Anna Nicole’s former lover, Howard K. Stern.
The reason the estranged mother to one of the most publicly troubled celebrities is heading to courts is because she believes TMZ and Howard K. Stern were involved in a conspiracy – yes, now’s the appropriate time for those tinfoil hats we spoke of – to destroy Virgie’s pristine reputation to advance the interests of Howard in the custody battle of Dannielynn.
According to Arthur, TMZ ran a story entitled “Virgie Has Son With Step-Brother” that was intended to bias readers against her, and thereby promote Howard K.
“Their goal was simple and straightforward, to ‘destroy’ anyone that was opposed to Howard K. Stern or his interest,” Virgie's Texas State Court lawsuit read.
Big surprise, results of a poll in the TMZ story showed that most readers found the morally-if-not-legally-incestuous scenario to be “creepy,” which gives Virgie further fuel to head to court.
Even though DNA results have confirmed that Dannielynn’s father was not Howard K. but rather Anna’s other lover Larry Birkhead, Anna Nicole’s mom still wants to sue for defamation of character. Although she makes no attempts to deny the truth behind the story – eeps – she still claims the negative impact it had on her image entitles her to monetary compensation.
The story of Anna Nicole Smith and her troubled and tortured last years is a sad one. The death of her son Daniel and her own death which left little Dannielynn without a mom truly does pull at even the tightest heart strings. While we’re loathe to bring anymore drama to the memory of Anna Nicole, in our opinion, her estranged mother is fair game.
You’ve got the facts, now you be the judge:
Does Virgie have a case or is she, as the saying goes, simply bat-sh** crazy?
