American Idol 7 champ David Cook not only won the coveted title this year but he also won the heart of a former Idol cast-off.
Cook and Season 2 contestant Kimberly Caldwell are officially an item, David confessed to Extra this week.
“She's great," he says. "So far, I've had a really good time with her."
But how exactly did David and Kimberly meet?
Wednesday night during an interview with the Idol Tonight Show, David took the opportunity to ask Caldwell out on a date.
“I'm just excited because I finally get to talk to you. I've been hearing you say all these nice things about me all season, so I'm actually going to ask you to dinner right now."
But, if you think it was love at first site, think again. David can’t remember one song his girlfriend sang when she took the stage for the show.
“I knew who she was, but I can't remember a song that she sang," he told Extra. "I'm probably in the dog house now."
We’d throw you in the dog house too if you were talking smack about us less than a week after we got together.
But how can you stay mad at David – he’s adorable.
