Christian Bale should be prepping for the spotlight with the success of Batman: The Dark Knight, but instead the actor may be prepping for jail time after being charged for assault by his sister and mother.
Shocking, no? We all know Christian as a heartthrob and a highly skilled actor, so it would’ve been tough to see this coming.
No details are as yet revealed on the incident that led to the charge, except that Bale is said to have attacked his 61-year-old mother, Jenny, and 40-year old sister, Sharon, at a hotel in London on Sunday night, after a flare-up of a longstanding dispute.
“It is an extremely sensitive situation. There is nothing more I can say,” Bale’s mother released in a statement. She has also stated that although an incident did occur, she did not summon the police.
Bale has been released today on bail, after an extensive four-hour questioning on the matter. Further investigation into the matter will resume in September.
A statement from Bale’s lawyer reads:
"Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr. Bale, who denies the allegation, cooperated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale."
