Teen tart Miley Cyrus is switching from still-life to video, trading in her pouty pictorial poses for some on screen face time in a self-made parody video of Disney rivals Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.
Oh no she di’n’t!
Yes, the supposedly misguided teen who just wishes the attention would all go away is putting herself center stage in the scandal arena with her inane and childish parody that is undoubtedly going to ruffle the fashionable feathers of her Disney protégés.
We can already hear the public apology she’ll issue in a week when the bad press starts coming in (visual: puppy dog eyes…and maybe an air-smooch at the camera):
“I’m really sorry I did that to Selena and Demi, it’s just that I’m 15 and I’m trying really hard to grow up and make smart decisions…but it’s so hard being a role model and a super-famous teenager that I can’t help but make some completely choreographed, self-indulgent mistakes along the way.
Plus Selena's, like, totally dating my boyfriend and stuff…b***h.”
Yaaaaaaaaack.
Honestly, we were more than willing to give Miley the benefit of the doubt after the whole racy photos scandal, and we actually thought she was learning the maturity it takes to handle life in the spotlight. But she had to go and prove us wrong with this lobotomizing video (see below), which is likely the biggest waste of YouTube bandwidth since the instructions on how to administer a proper Rick Roll.
Maybe it’s because we haven’t been teenagers since snap-bracelets were in style, but this whole “I’m young so I make mistakes” angle Miley’s working is wearing pretty thin. And parody videos are soooo 8th grade. Back in our day, when a boy broke your heart you just cried about it in the girls room and filled 9 pages in your diary.
Technology is ruining today’s youth.
