Nicollette Sheridan won’t be a desperate housewife anytime in the near future. In fact, she won’t even be a housewife at all.

The Desperate Housewives star and her fiancé (or should we say ex-fiance) have officially ended their engagement and have mutually agreed to go their separate ways.

"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," a rep for the couple revealed yesterday. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter."

But Nicollete and Michael have been anything but private with their relationship. Photos of the couple kissing and making out in public have been circulating the Internet faster than any other Tinsel Town couple in years (see photos below). 

And this isn’t the first breakup for the dynamic duo. Their relationship began a whopping 16 years ago (in 1992) and has been on and off ever since.

When Sheridan and Bolton began dating in 1992, the spark lasted an impressive 5 years (that’s like 35 years in Hollywood time!). Then, after calling it quits for nearly eight years, the couple reunited in 2005 to try and reignite the spark.

In 2006 the happy couple announced their engagement and appeared to be happily planning a wedding for the past year and a half.

Unfortunately, this couple – along with most Hollywood couples – didn’t have the staying power required to make it to the alter.

Perhaps they’ll reunite again in another eight years.
