It was a mere few years ago that pop star Jessica Simpson and her husband, musician Nick Lachey had (what seemed like) the perfect marriage. After their split in 2005, it didn’t take long for Nick to meet a new woman, but Jessica struggled to find her perfect match.
Since the divorce, Jess has been linked to a number of Hollywood’s leading men including Johnny Knoxville, John Mayer, Dane Cook, Adam Levine to name a few. But it wasn’t until November of 2007 that Ms. Simpson met a man who she recently revealed as “the love of her life.”
Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo stole the heart of one of the most talked about singers in the world. He and Simpson have formed a strong bond and have grown to become one of the hottest couples on the Hollywood scene.
Jess opened up to PEOPLE about her romance with Romo stating “I just told him today, “You’re the love of my life.”
“I don’t really ever say that to anybody,” she confesses. Hmm, we love ya Jess but somehow we can’t shake the feeling that you might have said that (once or twice) to your former husband? Correct us if we’re wrong.
Meanwhile, Nick’s long time love, Vanessa Minnillo is also opening up about their highly publicized relationship. Back in early 2007 the pair heated things up fairly quickly and by April of 2007 the two were sharing an apartment in New York City. That same year, racy photos of the couple vacationing (naked) were leaked on the Internet, breaking the heart of Nick's former love, Jess.
Vanessa also spoke with PEOPLE recently, revealing that Nick told her “I love you” first. Rumors that Nick and Vanessa are heading to the alter have been circulating for months but will Nick’s ex-wife tie the knot before he can seal the deal with Vanessa?
Only time will tell.
