Actor David Duchovny has officially entered rehab and is seeking help to overcome his problem with sex addiction. The 48-year-old father of two has been married to actress Tea Leoni since 1997 and has been struggling with his addiction privately for a while.
David released the following statement late yesterday evening:
"I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."
There has been no indication that the two-time Golden Globe winner has cheated on his wife.
Duchovny is best known for his role as FBI special agent Mulder on The X-Files.
His wife, Leoni, has not yet released a statement regarding her husband’s current problem but it is believed that she’s fully supporting him as he seeks treatment.
Hopefully David will get the help he needs. And hopefully his career doesn’t tank afterwards.
