As though $2,500 baby dresses and $1,000 ballet slippers aren’t enough, a new fashion line featuring high heels for babies has officially hit the fashion market – are you as freaked out as we are?

We’re not joking here. The brand is called Heelarious and the woman behind the ridiculous idea is Britta Bacon.

Bacon describes the posh-like pumps as “extremely funny, completely soft shoes for babies 0-6 months designed to look like high heels.”

But the shoes aren’t just ‘designed’ to look like high heels; there actually is a decent-size heel on every shoe. Can you imagine putting your baby through that.

How can you possibly teach a child to walk while you have them sporting the latest designer heels from Heelarious?

But, scarily enough, the shoe line is becoming more and more successful every hour.

In a short three months the shoes have been picked up in 350 stores worldwide and more than 1500 pairs have been purchased off the company website.

And while Bacon insists the line is supposed to be in good fun, we can’t help but wonder how long it will be before we see toddlers strutting their stuff down the street in thigh-high hooker boots.

Don’t get us wrong, we love a great pair of pumps...we just think they’re a personal style choice and no toddler should be forced into wear something that is probably quite painful and could possibly affect their ability to learn how to walk.

If you dress your baby in these shoes, whether for fun or for practicality (ya right), you’re a horrible parent. We’re just throwing that out there. It’s our opinion, take it or leave it. 

Wonder which celeb baby will be sporting the hilarious heels first. We'd bet our fall wardrobe on Suri Cruise for sure!

We'd say Posh Spice's daughter but she hasn't been blessed with a girl...yet. Come to think of it, if there's one thing in this world that can push Posh into pregnancy again it's probably this. We give it 3 months before she announces she's pregnant. We'll keep our fingers crossed for a girl this time, Vic!
