The spate of beauty pageants scandals makes me question the worth of these contests. What are girls learning beyond the fact that they can rely on their looks to get ahead?

What you fail to realise, Jen, is that hte scandals involve just a tiny majority of the winners each year - in the Miss USA/Teen USA system alone 51 girls in each division (so 102 overall) are crowned each year... and most complete their reigns admirably.  The vast majority make a real difference in the community through charity work and working with young people.... and it is just a real shame that the actions of a few colour them all.

OOOOhhhhh yeah,,They are dumb asses ..alright..But they are fine as wine,,,something in the trailors they are raised in...Kinda like the water the drink...makes them crazy,,,,but in her defense,,,,,UHHHH,,,,sorry no defense,,,they were in Bossier City,,,,,and everyone know you dont screw up in Bossier...had it been Shreveport...Nothing would have been done...I would have love to have frisked her though,,,,just kidding,,,,,

I understand your comment,but it is far from valid.Yes, Lindsay made an awful descision and in no way will i stick up for her wrong doing.However, that is one girl out of the 51 titleholders.Fortunately,there still remains 50 of us girls who strive daily to make  a positive impact on those around us and constantly work to improve the image of pageantry.Beauty pageants should be looked upon much more highly,they have paid for my college,opened career doors that would have otherwise never been opened, not to mention the confidence i have gained from competing.So to question the worth is simply ignorant.

It's only pot.  Hardly news worthy.  But in the USA it is.  Pathetic.  

It was a simple mistake.Get over it. The cops had no right to search her purse. They probable planted the dope.Everyone knows how what goes on there.

I live exactly 3 houses down from one of the 4 girls that were with Lindsay Evans. This is still pretty surreal to me. One of my best friends is Lindsay's cousin. It's weird to think that someone from little old Blanchard (my hometown and where I live right now) could make national news. It's amazing how dumb someone really can be though. We aren't all screwed up down here. Yes, there's many people (especially in Blanchard) who make terrible decisions. But, most of us are completely normal. Louisiana isn't full of dumbasses. You just hear about the ones that are.

And I agree, pagaent girls aren't horrible.  Many of them make a huge impact on their community.

All louisiana people are not dumb . We all make mistakes may not be the same mistakes but we ALL make them. She is a normal girl who I pray that her life get back together because I know that this must be hard for her. But anywhere she still had her crown for almost a year. LOL

you know what you guys. i am really good friends with lindsy evans i go to school with her in natchitoches louisiana home to the NSU demons. and ya i understand the mascot doesnt help the case any. but why is it people and look at the celebrities that do drugs and *** why cant people popular or people such as celebrities always get it the worst. so what if someone decides thats how they want to spend there life. who do you think you are that you can criticize who ever you want. its there lives let them live it the way they want. so what if there not like you maybe they dont want to be stuck up and uptight; maybe they just want to relax after a hard days work or a long afternoon of classes? now im 18 and lindsy evans is a great friend of mine we hung just last night, and no we didnt sleep together i went home. i dont smoke weed but i enjoy hanging out with lindsy even though i dont agree with her smoking weed, you know why? its because it is not my place to tell her what to do or give her *** for the things she does. so *** all yall if your life aint good enough that you have to put down those who actually do something with there lives. l8

and as for all the comments and shjit talking about lindsy. i talked to her the day after she was all over the news, and she laughs at yall you know why? because she agrees with me on the fact that yall have nothing else better to do than look at her and criticize her when i bet theres things her and i can sit at home and criticize yall for. so get a life and make sumin of it. l8

Lindsay Evans is one of my friends from high school. One thing people like yourselves seem to forget that girls who compete in pageants as well as celebrities are human just like all of us. They make the same mistakes and they bleed just like us too. Lindsay is human and has made mistakes. If you heard about someone you know that had done this but was just a normal person you wouldnt think anything about it but because of her social status, you are quick to judge and be negative.
