Brooke Burke Wins Dancing with the Stars 2008 - Did She Deserve it?

It was a memorable night for television personality/model Brooke Burke and her professional dance partner Derek Hough, as the loveable duo was crowned champions of Dancing with the Stars Season 7.

Brooke Burke/ Derek HoughAnd while the brunette bombshell held the coveted mirror-ball trophy high, second place winner Warren Sapp and third place winner Lance Bass held their heads high while congratulating the new champion.

This is the first win for Brooke’s professional dance partner Derek Hough (brother of two-time winner Julianne Hough), who was ecstatic during last night’s finale.

Burke, the 37-year-old-dancing queen best known for her role on Wild On!, joins previous female champs Kelly Monaco and Kristi Yamaguchi.

There’s no doubt the 5’7” model deserved this year’s title, the question is, could she stand up against other DWTS champions and hold her own.

Previous winners (in addition to Kelly Monaco and Kristi Yamaguchi) include Drew Lachey, Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno and Helio Castroneves.

Is it just us, or is it time for an All-Stars Dancing with the Stars season?

What a fantastic idea!  An allstars show or short season would be really interesting.

Brooke obviously deserved to win, and I do think the celebrities weren't as good at dancing compared to previous seasons.

I think that she was the most consistent dancer all season, however, she was not any better at the end than she was at the beginning.  Lance on the other hand improved 110% from beginning to end and I feel that he should have won.  Comparing the final dances, yes Brookes dance was full of tricks and alot of fun, but not alot of dancing.  Lance did hip-hop which was risky, but he nailed it and it was alot harder than her dance.

I have watched every episode of dancing with the stars. It is one of the favorite shows. I wait anxiously for the next season. I do think Brooke was consitantly the best dancer. However I also don't think she improved much. Lance was the better choice. I was furious that Warren took second over Lance that was purely insane. He should never have made it to the final let alone take second place. But as in other seasons you never know what makes people vote the way they do it is obviously not always judged on the dancing alone.. Every season seems to have their 'fan favorite', unfortunately this season it went on too far and put him in the final.. sort of ruins the show !!!
