The 2009 People’s Choice Awards aired last night and, as always, the red carpet fashion was the highlight of the night.
The red carpet show definitely previewed some major stylistas to watch out for in 2009 – and some 2008 winners who seem to have lost their flare already.

1. Jessica Stroup.
Shenae Grimes better watch out. 90210 actress Jessica Stroup, 22, is stealing the spotlight from her costar in this super-cute age-appropriate dress that accentuates her tiny figure without making her look stick-thin. The colors of this mini dress are absolutely amazing and her messy up-do completes this award-winning look.
2. Kate Hudson.
2008 was a great year for Kate Hudson and, if last night’s awards show was any indication, 2009 is looking even brighter. Kate showed up to the People’s Choice Awards last night and was beaming in blue on the red carpet. The stunning teal Gucci gown, matching sky-high Giuseppe Zanotti stilettos and long wispy locks make this fun and flirty look one to remember.

1. Carrie Underwood.
Normally we love country singer Carrie Underwood’s flair for fashion. Unfortunately, she looks more like a fashion flop in this floor-length floral print strapless Naeem dress. We’re sorry Carrie, but this look is better suited for my 73-year-old grandmother. On second thought, even she wouldn’t wear it.
2. Katherine Heigl.
Katherine Heigl’s attempt at simple sophisticated at this year’s People’s Choice awards was nothing but a big disappointment. The Grey’s Anatomy star donned this dull pantsuit and bee-hive hairstyle that can be deemed as anything but award-worthy, if you ask us. The People’s Choice Awards are supposed to be about fun – and there’s nothing fun about this outfit at all.
