The 2009 Golden Globe Awards took place last night and there were definitely more winners than losers on the red carpet. Some of Hollywood’s most recognizable fashionistas showed up to the prestigious event in jaw-dropping ensembles but, as always, there were a few bad apples in the group.
Best Dressed at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards:
It may have been a blistering sunny day in Hollywood California but the best designs on the red carpet were wintery white. Some of the hottest ladies were decked out, head-to-toe, in some of the most stunningly crisp white gowns we’ve ever seen.
Eva Mendes, Miley Cyrus and Sandra Bullock secured top positions on our best dressed list this year, all donning floor length white gowns. Eva definitely takes top spot with a strapless figure-flattering number with a big bow center.
Other winners on the red carpet include Eva Longoria in a fiery red curve-hugging gown, Demi Moore in a subtle, feathery halter gown, Angelina Jolie in a floor-length loose-fitting silver dress with a sky-high slit and Jennifer Lopez in a shimmery gold plunging v-neck gown that showed off her fabulous figure.
Honorable mentions go out to Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Winslet and Lisa Rinna who also looked stunning at last night’s event – but not stunning enough to secure a spot on our best dressed list.

Worst Dressed at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards:
While some ladies were dressed to impress at last night’s coveted event, others looked like they had a few too many sips of champagne before getting ready. Drew Barrymore’s messy hair and old-fashioned looking gown (and we don’t mean old-fashioned in a good way) made her look like she was going to a Halloween party instead of the GGs.
And, just when you think things can’t get any worse, repeat fashion offender Renee Zellweger shows up in this hideous black number (photographed below) and tragic looking updo. We’d be squinting too if we saw that every time we looked in mirror.
Other style losers last night include Victoria’s Secret model Heidi Klum (we really expected more from this stylista), The Office star Jenna Fischer (we don’t expect anything from her, she usually picks outfits that make her look like she’s headed out for an afternoon of tea and scrabble at the senior’s home) and The Dark Night star Maggie Gyllenhaal (who would probably like to join Jenna Fischer for an afternoon of “fun”).
