Katrina Darrell, American Idol 8’s most memorable contestant so far – and possibly the show’s most memorable contestant ever – showed up to her audition in an itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie bikini and impressed two out of the four judges. Can you guess which two?
The fiery brunette not only debuted on-stage in a bikini but she also propositioned Ryan Seacrest to makeout with him – and slammed the newest member of the judging panel for not being able to sing.
American Idol’s new judge Kara DioGuardi felt the need to prove herself to Katrina after the bikini-clad Idol hopeful criticized her vocal abilities.
After singing a few notes of the same song Katrina sang for her audition, Kara finished with some constructive criticism for the American Idol contestant:
“Honestly, you don’t have the chops to sing that song sweetie and you’re a beautiful girl but that was a big song” the Idol judge confesses to Katrina just before being interrupted with “but your demonstration wasn’t any better.”
That’s a slap in the face if I’ve ever seen one.
Paula Abdul jumped up dramatically screaming “that was not the right thing to say” – just before handing her a golden ticket to Hollywood.
We think Katrina is hilarious and she’s definitely one to watch out for this season.
