Michelle Obama Inauguration Dress and the Meaning Behind the Outfit

New First Lady, Michelle Obama won’t let Barack’s Inauguration come to a finish without stealing a bit of spotlight time for herself.

Known for her sophisticated style, Michelle donned a glittering yellow outfit for her husband’s inauguration today.

The dark-haired beauty modeled a knee-length sparkling yellow dress with diamond-embossed detailing around the neck. A knee-length matching canary yellowish-gold jacket finished her look, which is making headlines all over the world.

Michelle Obama in Isabel Toledo Michelle Obama Inauguration Dress

The shimmery outfit was designed by Isabel Toledo and has many wondering whether there’s more behind her choice of designer than simply looking the part of the President’s wife.

Sure, Michelle wanted to look good for today’s events but what made her decide to wear Isabel Toledo?

Insiders say that Mrs. Obama chose Toledo as the designer for her inaugural outfit to promote her husband’s desire to improve the United States' relationship with Cuba.

Could it just be coincidence that Isabel Toledo is Cuban-American or is there an underlying message behind Michelle’s outfit?

Either way, we have to pass on this outfit. All the glitter is making us feel lightheaded.

What did you think of Michelle’s dress?

I think our first lady Michelle looked wonderful today. She showed her confidence in what she wore. Everyones talking about the color and the fact that it's asummer color. Well so is white and everyone wears it in the winter. Never mind the color and lets look at how wonderful she looks in it. The gloves and the heels make the dress work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like her sense of style and this dress was no improvement.  In addition her ball dress looked too much like a prom dress.  She did not look like a stylish first lady.  She looked worse than any first lady in recent memory; even worse than Hilary looked.

Michelle is a beatiful woman, great body. Personally, not a dress i would have worn, but she has her own style, and she was radiant. She could have worn burlap sack, and still look great!

Call it like it really is....

Historic inauguration of the 44th president of the United States and I am looking forward to a more positive, progressive and inclusive administration that Obama will bring  --- as I am sure the majority of the U.S. population anf the world for that matter.  However just because we are all pulling for this, and although, put in perspective, what the 1st lady wears is not that important....come on people.  The dress was awful...the color the line, and the necklace too much...It's OK to say it like it is...it won't hurt Obama's ability to govern.

You are enabling Michelle's fashion faux pas by not telling it like it is...it started with the frightful Narciso black and red dress she wore when Barak was elected...you didn't call it then and now we have a puking green/yellow gaudy dress that looks like it belongs on a couch.
