Oscar Nominations 2009 – And the Nominees Are...

The annual Academy Awards (more popularly known as the Oscars) are quickly approaching and 2009 promises to deliver the golden awards to some of the most deserving films of our time.

Oscars 2009The 81st annual awards show kicks off live on February 22nd 2009 and the Oscar nominees are being announced today at 530 am PT.

So who will receive nods for some of the most prestigious awards in the entertainment industry?

If we had to bet our fall wardrobe on which film will win best picture, we’d be willing to risk our best pair of Jimmy Choos and our favourite Gucci handbag on Slumdog Millionaire.

We’d also like to see Kate Winslet take home gold for best actress and wouldn’t mind seeing Leonardo DiCaprio take home the award for best actor (although we're pretty sure it's going to go to Heath Ledger for his role in The Dark Night).

The nominees will be announced very shortly, so check back with us to see the full list of nominees as soon as they're announced!

Who would you like to see win an award this year?
