Michelle Obama Sweater Controversy – Love it or Hate it?

Michelle Obama has been taking a lot of risks since her husband was named President of the United States (she embraced the Queen with a pat on the back earlier this week – and everyone knows that the Queen is untouchable).

Today, just days after she made headlines by breaking royal protocol and touching the Queen, she decided to step out for ladies night in a classy teal skirt and black, brown, white and blue argyle sweater.

The sweater (which was also sequined) was half buttoned and represented something a school teacher would wear – not the first lady. Regardless, we love the outfit and think that Michelle’s choice in fashion is both relatable and respectable when it comes to her position in the White House.

She’s making presidency seem more modern and she’s not afraid to break some rules while she’s at it. You gotta respect her for taking chances.

Take a look at Michelle Obama’s sweater outfit and let us know if you think she’s fashion forward or a fashion flop:

Mrs. Brown -- think "undergarment"!  And the sweater on MO is pretty bad.

If wearing a sweater a size too small and not buttoning it correctly is "fashion forward" then , yeah she's amazing!

Tim Gunn, please pick up the White House phone!

Seriously, this First Lady can be herself more comfortably if someone would simply hire a stylist who could TEACH HER HOW TO STAND! She looks like an amazon. Pull your legs together, stop leaning forward and stand like a lady, not an off-balanced pigeon-toed jock. God! It's not difficult.....

Oh yes, now as for Mrs. Brown...... did you look at yourself in a 3 sided mirror before you left the house? Invest in one, quickly.

You have a decent figure, but no one needs to see that much of it.

Mr Blackwell is sneering in his grave.

C'mon, it is ok. Nobody can be with the perfect clothes for you  everyday. Could you? The sweater was different and it shows she has personality.

I bought a sweater exactly like that at a Goodwill store; my cat uses it to sleep on--  it catches her shedding hair.

Come on, people. Be nice.  Now, granted this is an ugly faux paux, but in reality, we ALL have done it in one time in our lives. Think about it this way... it's better than Barbara and Laura Bush ANY DAY.

I actually want that sweater - its an unexpected mix of pattern. But yeah, definitely not formal enough for that occasion.
