Carrie Underwood dazzled during her performance of Randy Travis’ I Told You So during the CMA Awards last night but the real fireworks came when the former American Idol winner won Entertainer of the Year.
Carrie made history last night, as the first female to take home gold in this category since the Dixie Chicks won in 2000 and only the seventh female to win this award in the show’s almost 40-year history.
Carrie looked stunning in a short white dress with frills down the front. She thanked her fans, her family, the academy, God and even managed to give a shout-out to her boyfriend, Ottawa Senators player Mike Fisher.

To win this coveted award, the country songstress beat out some of country music’s hottest male performers including Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and George Strait.
There’s a lot of controversy surrounding Carrie’s win – and many think that the 27-year-old cutie wasn’t worthy of such a prestigious award. We’ve listened to her new album on repeat for the past year and saw her live in concert and we can say 100 percent that Carrie deserved the Entertainer of the Year award.
Do you think Carrie should have won?
