Adam Lambert may have achieved the impossible last night, when he received a standing ovation from American idol judge Simon Cowell after performing the hit Mad World.

Adam, who has been a favorite to win since the early stages of the competition, blew away the audience and impressed the judges with his unbelievable vocals and his ability to touch fans.

While both Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen’s performances last night were top notch, many believe that Adam Lambert stole the show.

Dressed down in white jeans, a white shirt and a beige jacket, the loveable contestant was more subdued this week – proving that he’s versatile.

Adam even left the black eyeliner and mascara at home this week (thank God!).
