Susan Boyle Makeover Photos – New Hair, New Clothes, New Look!

It’s been a short time since 47-year-old unemployed charity worker Susan Boyle stepped onto the staged to audition for this season of Britain’s Got Talent, but these last few days have proven that living in the spotlight can definitely transform a Plain Jane into a budding beauty.

A few weeks ago, Susan made her mark on the world with her bushy eyebrows, frumpy clothing and gray hair as she made her way to the stage to perform "I Dreamed a Dream" on the successful reality TV show.

And while many (including Susan herself) claimed she looked perfectly fine the way she was, it took less than a week for Susan’s transformation to start taking effect.

In a post written earlier this week, we at ThinkFashion expressed our thoughts on Susan’s look. We simply suggested that she tweeze her eyebrows, dye her hair, put on a little makeup, update her wardrobe and throw on a few accessories. You know, ehance her assets - to say the least.

Needless to say, visitors to our site were not happy with our suggestions, many calling our ideas “sick,” "shallow" and "disturbing."

Well, we hate to say “I told you so” but we were right. Just days later, Susan – who, let's remind you again, was perfectly happy with her appearance – has debuted a fresh face (with tweezed eyebrows), an updated wardrobe (including a leather jacket), a new hairstyle (and color) and bold accessories (take a look at the Burberry scarf!).

We simply implied that Susan could use a little enhancement – and she seems to agree. Wouldn’t you agree that she looks happier and healthier now than she did before?

We think you look gorgeous, Susan!

Do you like Susan’s new look – or do you think she looked better before the makeover?

I agree. Plus - every woman likes to feel pampered! Why demand something else from Susan?

I think she looked more approachable before. Her face looked open and friendly.  Now, the hair looks stiff and unwielding (also too dark).  The glasses also make her look less approachable.  I don't like the leather jacket either--it looks too stiff and masculine.

I think the tousled hair looked better on her, it just needed a good cut, so that the tousles looked good, instead of unkempt.  And, if she is going to color her hair--go lighter, not darker.

Great - every woman loves to feel good - and this was a mini make-over that made a nice change.  She has her own style already.  Watch for followers...

love the leather jacket and the eyebrows....

I think she looks great - good for her!  I don't get what all the fuss is about.  So she decides to respond to her wonderful new opportunity by taking a bit more care with her appearance.

It's not like she went on Extreme Makeover and had plastic surgery!

I liked her better before. She was more interesting and more honest. Now she's just another boring looking woman in identikit middle aged middle England garb. Snore.

The center photo one can still see Susan Boyle.  The photo on the right shows a more stern looking Susan.  Her smile is missing.  What matters is how Susan Boyle feels about her looks and herself.  Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.  One must be happy with oneself.  A note to Susan, don't change yourself simply to please others, you can not please everyone.

It's a nice new look.  But it's not a Susan Boyle look.  She is not a project to work on.  In her new makeover pic where is her bright smile and happy face?  I agree with a new hairstyle, tweezed eyebrows and some makeup but I fear her new look is too much too soon.  Give her some basics and let her evolve with the rest of her new look on her own as any female is bound to do.  Don't treat her as the new Susan Boyle makeover barbie doll.

nothing wrong with updating oneself..... her new look does not change who she is inside... but... i would suggest to ditch those glasses.. if going for an updated look, the style of those glasses just doesn't cut it. Why glasses at all? She wasn't wearing any on BGT... so... ditch them....and enjoy the more refreshed/updated look. Can't wait to hear you sing again, Susan!

I don't think it's about whether or not she looks better... I think the real issue is whether or not she was happy with who she was and then made to feel that she should look different.  Of course her new look is sharp and "improved", but her old look was great, too, because it was the essence of Susan Boyle.  I think your entire philosophy of trying to improve someone's look in the first place is misguided.  If we're all walking around thinking and believing that we need to look improved, and if we don't have the resources to pursue what society has told us to pursue with respect to our looks, then we not only feel ugly, but we also feel frustrated and hopeless because we can never look great.  Unfortunately, our self-esteem is not as thick-skinned as we assume, and we are easily influenced by cultural pressures.  Isn't it ironic that the big deal about Susan Boyle (besides her voice, of course) was that she didn't look like she could possess her voice, and that we were collectively ashamed for making such an assumption.  And that endeared her to us... and now, she simply became just like one of the people who judged her on her looks.  In the end, though, if it is what Susan wanted, then good for her.

I think she looked better (and happier) just as she was on BGT. I agree with those that think she looks more stern and less approachable. When someone changes in an effort to make OTHERS happy, it's being done for the wrong reason.

I see that people are saying how in the last picture see doesn't look like her bubbly self, but I was looking at other pictures of her, and she was smiling and giving the thumbs up, and it was one from the day the one above was taken.

Susan Boyle is an amazing person who has one of the most beatiful, moving voices I have ever heard.  People keep talking about her appearance whether frumpy or transformed.  Remember... her looks are not what inspired us.  And now that she has paid more attention to her physical upkeep, she is a truly gorgeous woman!  Many people keep saying the discrepancy between the beauty of her voice and her "frumpy" look is what caught our attention, as if our pity for her is what rivets us.  Baloney sandwitch!  It's her voice whether she may look like frankenstein or a Supermodel.  It's her voice.  And I want to thank Susan Boyle for sharing her talent and her sweet, charming personality with us.
