Hollywood is certainly no stranger to rumors of celebrity sexuality – in fact, so many people in the business are rumored to be gay that it may be easier to create a list of celebs who are thought of as “straight.”
Well, one of Hollywood’s worst kept secrets of sexuality has been confirmed today by website Shewired.com. Turns out 80’s hottie and star of the hit movie Top Gun (no, not Tom Cruise – who is also surrounded by rumors of his sexuality) Kelly McGillis, who played Tom’s flight instructor and love interest, has come out to the world by admitting she’s a lesbian.
The 51-year-old actress confessed to being done with men and explained a desire to move on in life.
I personally applaud Ms McGillis for her bravery and commitment to herself to be happy and satisfied.
Why does Hollywood keep so many secrets of sexuality? Is the world still that ignorant to object to homosexuality?
