Exodus Tyson, only 4 years old, was found hanging from a treadmill by the power cord yesterday morning.
Her 7 year old brother, Miguel, discovered his baby sister in the family's activity room. He was asked by his mother, who was cleaning in another room at the time, to check on her. This took place in Tyson's family home in Phoenix, Arizona around 10:30 am, this past monday.
Sources say that the girl's mother was administering CPR when paramedics arrived on the scene. Mike Tyson, the champion boxer, was away in Las Vegas when this freak home accident took place but quickly flew home to be by his daughters side when he was informed of the tragedy.
Exodus was put on life support as soon as she arrived at the hospital where she remained in critical condition overnight. She was pronounced deceased at 11:45 am yesterday.
Parent's rightly assume that their kids will out live them. What a horrifyingly, sad time for this loving and caring family. My sympathies go out to the family. A longtime friend and former agent of Mike Tyson, Sig Rogish was quoted saying "Mike was very dedicated to that baby" and "Mike has had his troubles in his life, but he's always been a good father." Exodus was one of Tyson's seven children.
The troubles he speaks of include being arrested 38 times by the age of 13, being convicted of raping a beauty queen resulting in 3 years of imprisonment and being stripped of his boxing license for a year after biting off a chunk of Evander Holyfield's ear during a match. Later on, he was sent back to prison on other assault charges and arrested for DUI and felony drug possession.
Quite the rap sheet but Mike would do anything for his family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike and his family during this difficult time.
