What people do not understand is that Jon & Kate cannot stop doing the show until they are finished w/ their full 40 episode season.  Both Jon & Kate signed contracts w/ TLC and they are binding.  Jon & Kate can't just say "Oh, well we've had enough now, we're done."  It does not work that way.  I am sure they are not to happy w/ having their marital problems viewed all over the world, but it was either come clean or continue this insane life of paparazzi photographing every single step they make just hoping to catch one of them doing something they are not suppose to.  I am sure the tabloids will still continue to bother them, but maybe now that J&K have come clean and announced that yes they are indeed separated the tabloids can stop w/ the cheating drama and Jon living elsewhere crap.  It is unfortunate that the Gosselin's were unable to save their marriage and continue w/ their normal family life, but it is their choice to divorce.  We do not know what goes on behind close doors.  As Kate said in the recent episode, "We have been fighting off screen (behind the cameras)."  They edit at Tlc so that the viewers do not see them fighting, so if they are fighting then it is best they go their separate ways.  It is worse for children to grow up in a household of fighting and battling parents than to have parents that are split and can at least be friends.  

I am however curious as to what actions or activities Jon did this past weekend for Kate to go and file divorce papers.  Every photo of Jon from this past weekend show him playing and enjoying his children.  What could Jon have done for Kate to get so angry???  I do hate how they try to be so cryptic in the show's interviews and when giving statements to the press.  They wonder why photographers follow them and tabloids speculate, well that's why.  Just tell the truth and there will be no way for people to tell lies about you.

Also, Jon complains all the time about the paparazzi but JOn actually went outside the gates of the house and spoke w/ photographers who were filming and sign photos of the family.  Jon also had all the children out front playing most of the weekend rather than have them play in the backyard.  For someone who is tired of being photographed he sure sets himself up to be photographed.  Hmmmmm......

These are just my thoughts.

i think they should stay together and jon can stop cheating and think of there future and there well being and stop thinking of himself. he says its hard taking care of multiples well i have multiples and i stay home 24/7 with my children my husband works 60-70 hours a week and i never see him and i dont cheat apparently he didnt care to much for his wife

Help Jon & Kate get back to real reality!!! Boycott this show. When the ratings tank the station will cancel them - they will not be held to the 40 episodes.

And people - Let's worry about REAL people...You know the ones...Our soldiers overseas, the homeless and starving in the US...the ones who count.

Let's stop making celebes out of money hungry people who have children for the sole purpose of having someone pay them for their story!!!!

I  believe with all my heart that Jon and Kate's marriage could be saved if only they were both determined to let the past be just that the past. . Their family unit will be forever changed if they continue on this path , however if they were to choose to follow the fork in the road that would lead toward healing a relationship and their family at the same time I am positive the hard work would bring peace.

I realize that women can turn a man's head with their sympathetic and insincere compliments.  I just hope that Jon doesn't let something of this nature keep him from fighting for his marriage.  If he is sincere about his kids coming first let him show it by stepping up and taking a stand for the right thing for his children which is both parents there working together. By the way Jon, Kate's hard work, organizational skills, and Love have made your kids what they are today.   The grass may look greener on the other side, to you, but it may be brown and burnt once you get there.  Please think about what this will mean to the children that come first in your life.

I don't watch the show because it's on all of the news stations, but seriously,

stop the explotation of those kids.

The BEST way to help them would be to quit watching their show. Then the ratings would drop - they'd get canceled - go back to being REAL life people - and maybe (MAYBE) work out the issues with honesty & integrity that BOTH of them have.
