British rock icon Sir Paul McCartney made a special appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman last night, treating thousands of fans to a live show from atop the late show’s marquis at the Ed Sullivan Theater in NYC.

Belting out some classic Beatles tunes, the performance included such hits as Back in the U.S.S.R and Get Back. It was just over 45 years ago that the Fab Four made their first U.S appearance at the very same theater in New York, bringing Beatlemania to the level of Pandemonium across the country and indeed around the world.

We’re glad to see Sir Paul looking so well and performing like a pro. In recent years McCartney’s life has been much publicized due to the nasty divorce from his nasty ex-wife Heather Mills.
